Tuesday 29th January 2013

Boot Scooters Line Dancing, low impact, 10am to11.30am at the Scout Hall, Christian Street.

Vets Golf at the Dannevirke Golf Course. For more details please phone Ray Beckett 374 5363.

The Elske Centre for over 60's from 10am to 3pm.  Venue: Dannevirke Anglican Church Hall.  Co-ordinator Lorraine Warrington, 374 7649.  The Centre offers its services through Anglican Care and is a charitable trust for the Community. 

 

 

Wednesday 30th January 2013

Dannevirke Highland Pipe band meet at the Carnegie Centre, Allardice Street from 7pm to 9pm. Contact Glennis McDonald if you require more information phone 374 7280.

Dannevirke Brass Band meets for a full practice from 7.30pm to 9pm.  Practice is held at the Brass Band rooms off Allardice Street.  Anyone wanting to learn an instrument please contact: Sarah Kuggeleijn 374 6446.

Dannevirke Spinners & Weavers meet at the Craft Cottage, 30 McPhee Street.  Weavers meet from 10am to 2.30pm, spinners from 7pm - 9.30pm.   For further information contact Anne Willis on 374 6524.

Dannevirke Art Society meets at the studio, 30 McPhee Street for painting & drawing from 10am onwards.  Visitors & newcomers are welcome.

Volley Ball - Dannevirke Sports Centre, Anderson Street 6pm to 7.30pm.  Bring along a friend and give it a go. 

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at The Hub, Gordon Street, at Noon.

Norsewood Craft Group meets in the pottery room, behind Norsewood Information Centre from 10.30am - 3.30pm.  Bring you own craft, whatever it may be, and your own food or treat yourself to lunch in the village.  A minimal charge applies towards the power, everyone welcome.

Ruahine Ramblers Leisure Marching Team meets at the Netball Courts, Anderson Street at 5.30pm.  New members welcome to join.  Contact Marj Johnson 374 8725.

Tai Chi for Health for both men and women.  Classes to be held at the Old Acquaintance Club, Allardice Street, Dannevirke at 10am – 11am.  Also at Tararua Reap Building 15 Gordon Street, 7pm – 8pm.   Tai Chi is a slow, gentle flowing exercise suitable for all ages and abilities.  Supported by ACC NZ as an exercise to prevent falls. Housie at the Old Acquaintance Club, Allardice Street.  Social afternoons, 1pm start, afternoon tea provided, small cost involved.  All welcome.

Dannevirke and Districts A & P Association are holding their 103rd annual A & P Show at the Dannevirke Show Grounds.  7am – 5pm.  Events include equestrian, shearing competition, home industries, decorated courts, trade displays and photography competition.  Admission – family $13, adults $6, child $2, preschool free.  Friday night from 6.30pm Aotea Speed Shears in the woolshed, Neptune Street and Mahons Amusements.  Friday night entry is by gold coin donation.    

 

 

Saturday 2nd February 2013

Dannevirke and Districts A & P Association are holding their 103rd annual A & P Show at the Dannevirke Show Grounds.  7am – 6pm.  Events include home industries and decorated courts, trade displays, photography competition, wool, sheep and fat cattle section, goats, alpacas, children's zoo, cage bird display, equestrian, stage entertainment, terrier racing and a new event, sheep racing also Mahons Amusements.  Admission – family $15, adults $8, child $3, preschool free.
